In the Beginning
Well, we’re 3 months into the new year and many, if not most, people have given up their New Years resolutions. On the first day of January many people make what they call “New Year’s resolutions”, and I encourage you to do that “IF” you need to. Changes, both positive and negative, begin with a thought, and then a decision, followed by action. As I “began” this New Year I turned to my daily Bible reading guide to see what the reading suggestion was for today. Surprise, surprise, it was Genesis 1. The Bible begins with four words that changed history, and can change a persons life today. Those words are…
In the beginning God…
The English word beginning is translated as: the point of time or space at which anything begins.
It doesn’t have to be the first day of the year or the first day of anything for change to begin to happen in our lives.
We see constant change in our world. Most of that change is beyond our power to control. But it is not beyond God’s power to control. God is not only the beginning but the ending as well. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. When you see things happen this year that are beyond your control (and you will), put your trust in the Alpha and Omega.
When you see things happen that are within your control, do what you can to change them or change you.
This year will be one of great contrasts, confusion, and conflict.
Always keep your focus on the Holy Spirit, and not on the voices of the world in 2022.
