Pastors Gary and Rose Brothers
Pastors Gary and Rose became Pastor's of Cape First in 1991. Beginning with a small group of less than 100 people, through their leadership, Cape First has grown into a family of many members across 4 locations. Pastors Gary and Rose travel extensively around the globe sharing at Pastor's Conferences, events, and meetings.
Cape First Sikeston Kids Life and areaONE Pastor
Being around Cape First his whole life, Aaron is one of our "home grown" Pastors. Through his love for the church and community, it brought him to Pastoring our Kids Life and areaONE students at the Sikeston location. Pastor Aaron and his wife Breanna make their home in Sikeston along with their 3 girls. He is also somewhat of a Seattle Seahawks fan, and is known to wear a piece of Seahawks gear at all times. Lastly, he owns a family Surburban that he cannot park.
Discovering Life Editor
Bailey Bagot has been on staff with the Creative Team since 2013. She produces our Discovering Life television program and serves on our media team during our weekly services. In addition to her role at Cape First, Bailey is also a wedding and family photographer, enjoys crafting, loves coffee, and can often be found dragging her husband down every aisle of Target in her free time. She and her husband, Jacob, live in Essex and have one daughter.
Graphic Designer / CFSM / REMIX Young Adults
Ben Burton has been around Cape First church since the 5th Grade. Since joining the staff in 2014, he has served in a variety of roles. He currently serves on the Creative Team. He has a passion for creating materials that will help brand and market our church. Ben helps lead and love our students in the Cape First School of Ministry. You'll find him leading weekly chapels and on the road sharing about CFSM. In addition to those roles, he also helps lead REMIX Young Adults. He loves to see the next Generation raised up. Ben is a huge fan of the Denver Broncos but a bigger fan of his wife Kate and daughter Charlee Kate. On his days off, you'll find Ben chilling with his crew.
House of Hope Campus Pastor
Pastor Blake serves as our House of Hope location pastor. He has been on the team her at Cape First for over 20 years. Most of his time has been spent in outreach and House of Hope. Pastor Blake also serves as an Executive Pastor, assisting our Lead Pastor in many ways. In addition to his role at the church, he is a School Board President and serves in his community. Pastor Blake and his wife Kathy have 4 kids.
Office Ministry Assistant/Assistant to Pastor Rose Brothers
Breanna Cruz has been a part of Cape First Church since she was born, including supposedly being dedicated as a baby by Pastor Gary. The church is also where she met her husband, Aaron. She assists in our Central Office with events like the Tea Party and hospitality, as well as helps her husband in the ministries that he oversees. Breanna's perfect day includes some time on the beach with her toes in the sand. Those perfect days at the beach also include their 3 girls.
Cape First Silver Springs Campus Pastor, REMIX Young Adults and Life Groups Pastor
Pastor Chad joined the Cape First Church team as a Pastor in 2016. Previous to coming to Cape First, Pastor Chad was a Senior Pastor of a church in the bootheel area of Missouri. In his role at Cape First, he oversees Remix young adults, Life Groups throughout all 4 locations, and various other ministries. In addition to serving at Cape First, Pastor Chad travels throughout the US both with our missions teams and ministering himself in many churches. He is a husband to Monica and a dad 2 little girls. When he's not spending time at the church or with his crew, you'll probably find him in a deer stand.
David works within our Facilities Dept. making sure the Silver Springs location is clean and ready for services and events at all times. In addition to working for Cape First Church, David carries on his family business of carpet cleaning and janitorial services. When he's not sprucing up facilities, you can find him hanging with his family, working out at the gym, or mountain biking in beautiful places. David is married to his best friend Merrily and have 4 children.
Connections and Communications Pastor
David serves as the Connections and Communications Pastor for Cape First. In the Connections Pastor role, he helps everyone find their place within Cape First Church and help a large church feel smaller. The easiest way to describe his Communications role is job is, "What are we saying and how are we saying it?" David makes sure that what leaves our buildings through Social Media, TV, and print are consistent with who we are and the mission that God has called us to. Along with his role at Cape First, David serves various ministries throughout the US with coaching and consulting of Systems and Technology within the Church. David and his wife Julie have 3 kids (all within 20 moths of each other) and love eating a hot meal, keeping a clean house, and quiet car rides. All of which they never get with having 3 small children.
Derek grew up at Cape First Church. After graduating Jackson High, he got married and moved to St. Louis to serve on the Media Team at a large church. Ten years and a new baby later, Derek and his family felt the call to move back home. Derek returned to his roots in the Cape First Media Dept. overseeing and creating video and graphics. He is excited to lend his knowledge and talents to the growth of Cape First and it's ministries. Outside of his work at the church, Derek is a musician, a self proclaimed coffee snob, an entrepreneur, busy Dad of two boys, and husband to Elysia.
Creative Arts Pastor
Pastor Eric has been a part of Cape First for many years. He has served in a variety of capacities through Worship and Creative Arts. He currently serves as the Creative Arts Pastor making sure our weekend services are planned out and executed effectively. He is also involved in helping all our of locations find and develop worship leaders and bands. When not strumming a guitar at the office, Eric loves spending time with Whitney, watching football, or eating pizza...usually all three of those at the same time.
Missions and First Impressions Pastor
Pastor Fred leads both our Missions efforts and First Impressions Team. In the second role he oversees everything from the streets to the seats, including ushers, greeters, and parking lot. Within Missions, Fred leads our efforts with both local and global missions. One of Fred's joys is having a church home where his entire family can serve together. In addition to his duties at Cape First, he teaches German and World Religions at SEMO. When he's not at church or school you will find him enjoying time at home with family, reading a good book or taking a team to Germany, which he does every year, in order to introduce them to the German people, culture, and history.
Kids Korner Director
Jean Fulton is the Director of Kids Korner Daycare and Preschool Center. She has been with our team for over 18 years. Her favorite scripture for children is Proverbs 22:6. She loves God and she loves kids. She also loves paper crafting and traveling.
Joey is Cape First's Mr. Fix It. If Joey can't fix it, it probably can't be fixed. Every day you'll find Joey improving our facilities, keeping everything in working order, and making sure our buildings are always ready to serve the community. When he's not at work, Joey loves to ride his motorcycle with his wife Mary Pat and spend time with some of the many King's you'll find around here. There's a ton of them.
Julie joined the team in 2018 after working for nearly twelve years as an attorney, including some time as in-house Counsel for a Fortune 100 company. She handles a lot of the “boring” work, including budgets, policies, and paperwork. In addition to being the church’s business administrator, she is Pastor Gary Brothers’s personal assistant, helping with his schedule and projects. Julie and her husband have a set of twins and a baby all under age 3, so she has no hobbies, but aspires to one day get a full night’s sleep.
Cape First Sikeston Campus Pastor
Justin serves as the Campus Pastor for Cape First Sikeston. He and his wife Merideth also serve in leading worship there. In addition to leading the Sikeston Campus, Justin is the General Manager for KHIS Radio, KMHM Radio, and WVYN The Vine Radio. He is also a faculty member of Southeast Missouri State University in the Harrison College of Business where he teaches entrepreneurship and finance. Additionally, he is the Character Coach for the Southeast Missouri State University Men's Basketball team. Justin lives in Jackson with his best friend and wife, Merideth. They are also the hosts of the Morning Show on KHIS. They have two daughters, Lydia and Layla. Justin's hobbies include reading, basketball, playing guitar, telling really good jokes, and wearing cool socks.
Office Ministry Assistant / CFSM
Kate Burton serves in a variety of roles at Cape First. Kate is one of the friendly faces that will greet you in the central church office. Kate also helps out with Cape First School of Ministry and our Remix ministry. Kate has grown up in the church and has been part of the Cape First staff since 2014. Kate and her husband Ben welcome their first daughter Charlotte Kate in May 2018. You can find Kate spreading Christmas cheer all year around and representing the Kentucky Wildcats by shouting GO BIG BLUE even when it's not game day.
Larry leads our Accounting Office. He has served in this position since April of 2009. Prior to this, Larry worked for the US Postal Service for 29 Years. He and his wife Crystal, who served at Pastor Gary's Assistant for many years, live in Jackson. In addition to serving at Cape First, they own & operate Heartland Harvest Market & Antiques.
Cape First Marble Hill Campus Pastor
Pastor Mark and his wife Bekki have served as Campus Pastors of our Marble Hill location since 2010. As Cape First has grown over the years, Pastor Mark has served in a variety of roles since his family’s arrival in 1998, including Music Pastor, Christian Education Director, Missions Pastor, and Facilities Manager, among others. In addition to ministry, Mark enjoys golf, making “Dad Jokes” (I used to be addicted to the Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around), and debating atheists on the internet.
Mary Pat loves all things graphics, so much so she says she would do it for free if she had to. In her role as Creative Project Manager, Mary Pat makes sure slides, print materials, t-shirts and anything else she can help design communicates the Cape First mission and vision clearly. When she's not in her office designing, she's at home designing or on the back of her husband's motorcycle. She also loves spending time with her family and many, many grandkids.
Family Life Pastor
Nate has been a part of the Cape First family for over a decade. During his time at Cape First Nate has served as Youth Pastor at our House of hope location and is currently serving as children and Family Life Pastors at the Silver Springs campus. Nate’s passionate about God, family, Memphis Grizzlies, and hot wings ( in that order). When he’s not hanging out with his family, he enjoys reading, watching documentaries, playing basketball and dressing up as a wrestler. Nate and his beautiful wife Katie have three children, Tatum, Nora, and Tristan.
Pastor Phil serves as an assistant Youth Pastor to our AreaOne Youth Ministry. He and his wife Sharon have helped lead our youth ministry for over 20 years. Their purpose and passion is to see our youth realize and deploy the gifts God has placed within them. When they are not at church, you will most likely find Pastor Phil and Sharon hunting, fishing, or following their grandchildren on the college rodeo circuit.
House of Hope Administrative Assistant
Tammy Rodriguez, Administrative Assistant to Pastor Blake Tiemann at the House of Hope. Tammy began volunteering for the House of Hope Super Saturday program prior to being hired. She began working at Silver Springs in July of 1999 and transitioned to the House of Hope 5 years later. Tammy married native Chicagoan Juan Rodriguez in 1998. Juan has been involved with the House of Hope ministries since 1996. Tammy is originally from Pocahontas, Missouri. Juan does MOST of the cookin’ at their home, ‘cause he LOVES his Puerto Rican food, occasionally, though Tammy has to have her way and cook a hillbilly meal.
