Staying Steady

I read a story one time about the horrific bombings that the city of London, England experienced during WW 2. It was on one Saturday night that the bombing was especially damaging. The next morning found the city ablaze. Fires were burning on almost every block. Buildings collapsed, including many churches. One particular church was left with nothing more than pews covered with rubble under an open sky. No one would have blamed the people of that church to stay home that Sunday morning and deal with the disaster that surrounded them. But they chose another path. They gathered in what was left of their bombed out church building and began to sing hymns, and praise God.
Unknown to them, there was a man in a building close by huddled in his room contemplating suicide. He was an American war correspondent who had arrived in London the day before. The night of bombing left him terrified and in complete despair. He said, “If this is what modern civilization had brought then let me die now.” But as he said those words he heard a sound coming from down the street. It was the sound of the Christians singing and praising God. He later wrote: “Suddenly I saw in the world something that was unshatterable—something that had endured through millennia, something that was indestructible—the spirit and life and power of Jesus Christ within his church.
You may be experiencing physical, emotional, financial, or spiritual bombs being dropped in your life. To many people world around us seems to be imploding, and there is no hope in the worlds system. Just remember this one thing…
THE WORLD IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF A PEOPLE OF GOD WHO WILL STAY STEADY IN THE CHAOS.
Let’s be those people!!!
When the economy disintegrates…Let’s Stay Steady!
When the justice system fails…Let’s Stay Steady!
When the politicians posing as leaders fail us…Let’s Stay Steady!
When all else seems to be falling apart, just remember…God NEVER fails!
Psalm 89:8 O Lord God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O Lord? Your faithfulness also surrounds You.
